Description

‘The Birth of the Genie’ captures a state of awakening, when inner energy is just beginning to take shape.
In this work, one senses the impulse of birth, the hidden power and tension of the moment when the image is still shrouded in the mystery of its origin.
The sculpture resonates like an inner declaration: I am emerging. This is precisely why it feels so vivid. What appears before the viewer is not a finished symbol, but a moment of becoming, when energy is already present in the material yet still retains the breath of mystery.
For Viktor Mosielev, the idea of composition and the desire to convey the essence of the image—its inner truth—through plasticity are of fundamental importance. This approach, which the artist himself articulates on his website, is particularly evident in ‘The Birth of the Genie’. The work is built not on external effect, but on a tense internal movement, in which form seems to be born of its own spiritual impulse. Here, the image does not illustrate the myth literally, but translates it into a state accessible to human experience.
Compositionally, the work maintains a balance between sculptural composure and a sense of liberating energy. The figure is perceived as a vessel of inner light and movement, rising from the depths and gradually becoming visible. Thanks to this, the work speaks not only of a mythical creature, but also of the very moment of inner birth — the awakening of power, image and spirit.
