Samson fighting a lion is a well-known sculptural theme. When a person faces danger, their true soul is revealed. It is said in Mongolia that each of us harbors five demons, and when one leaves, the next surfaces. However, in moments of mortal danger, all leave, revealing a person as they truly are. Samson is depicted in this manner, with his soul wide open, completely devoid of any trace of fear.
