Fantastic castle, consisting of numerous turrets and architectural elements from different times and traditions, emerges from the mystical fog. In reality, a similar experiment was attempted by the eccentric King of Bavaria, Ludwig II, in the late 19th century, a patron of Wagner, an art enthusiast, and a great dreamer. He wanted to build a fairytale castle with multiple turrets that he personally selected from various styles. Neuschwanstein Castle exists and amazes, although the project was never completed. In Vitaly Valge's painting, such a castle is fully realized, but not in this space and time, rather in some other, fantastical world. It is a castle of Fata Morgana, a vision, darkness, a mirage breaking through the haze into our reality. This painting can enter your collection as a standalone piece, as well as part of a diptych together with a paired similar painting featuring an image of a similar castle, executed in the same size and style.
