Opening the сity monument “King of Beasts”

The city sculpture “King of beasts” by TAO Sergey Kondrashkin, installed in 2016 in front of the Museum of Modern Art Erarta in St. Petersburg. Sculpture made of patinated bronze.

Sergey Kondrashkin was born in 1979 in Leningrad. He was graduated from the Russian Academy of Arts named by Repin, studied course abroad and tought sculpture for students in China.

Today Sergey Kondrashkin works and exhibits in Saint-Petersburg and his works are in the collections of Hermitage and private collections of Russia, Holland, China, Belgium, Italy and Finland. Monumental compositions are set up in Novosibirsk and in Chendu province Sichuan (China).

The sculptor feels encouraged by epics and myths in the world of archaic folk culture and esoterics.

Kondrashkin took part in climbing to the mountain peak of Altai, Caucas and Himalays and was merited the rank of “Snow Bars” and his interest in alpinism is observed in some works.
