Sergey Chubirko

Sergey Pavlovich Chubirko was born in 1969 in Transcarpathia, Ukraine (former USSR).

1985-1989 – studied in Art College in the city of Uzhgorod, Ukraine.

1994-2000 – studied in the Ilya Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in Saint- Petersburg, Russia.

2000-2003 – did post-graduate studies and assistant teaching at the Department of Easel Painting under the guidance of Professor Sokolov V.V.

2005, 2007-2008 – taught drawing and conducted master classes in the city of Chengdu, China.

2007-2010 – created a series of portraits of ecclesiastics of the Catholic Church in Rome and Vatican, Italy.

2010 – worked on a portrait of the Pope Benedict XVI, Vatican, Italy.

From 2010 – till present – teaches drawing in Florence, Italy.

Works are kept both in private and state-owned collections in the USA, China, Germany, Italy, Vatican, Spain and Czech Republic.

2002 Participated in an exhibition “We-They” at the Museum of Ethnography, Saint-Petersburg, Russia.
2003 Took part in a project “Ceremonial Portrait of Saint-Petersburg” dedicated to 300-th anniversary of the city, creating a series of portraits of prominent citizens of Saint-Petersburg.
2008 Had a personal exhibition in the city of Guangzhou, China.
2013 Exhibition of graphic works in Uzhgorod, Ukraine.
2014 Took part in collective exhibitions in the city of Fribour, Switzerland; in the cities of Fiuggi and Tavarnelle Val di Pesa, Italy.
2015 Exhibition in Palazzo Medici Riccardi, Florence, Italy.
